Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta comes to a close
Well done to al the Dubois designs who took part, and our congratulations go to INDIO who took first place. The 45m Salperton placed highest out of the competing Dubois designs, taking 6th place overall.
Ed Dubois comments;
Following the pictures and comments sent out on Twitter and Facebook, we are delighted with the showing of our designs at the regatta.
The fleet was blessed with great conditions generally and while some of the more cruising orientated yachts would perhaps have enjoyed a little more breeze on the last day, everyone agreed at was a very successful event.
It was lovely to see Salperton being sailed so well, particularly after she spent a little while away from the regattas last year. Owner and crew can be justly proud of putting together a great team that sailed so beautifully.
Bliss was competing in her first regatta and being a slightly lighter boat, built from composite construction, did particularly well in the last race. Again, well sailed, she goes into the St. Barth’s Bucket a happy ship.
Ganesha put in her usual dedicated and well-structured performance and as a St. Barth’s Bucket Winner (2009) will be looking forward to that event once again.
Zefira – larger than her design sisters – would probably have preferred a little more breeze but drew many an admiring glance and was commented on as a worthy winner of so many design awards since her launching.
Lady B, with a smaller crew, decided to enter the non-spinnaker division and had a happy and relaxed time, showing excellent speed upwind.
Full results can be found on the regatta website.
