Aglaia
66m Sloop
Overview
Launched in 2011, the 66m Aglaia was built at Vitters Shipyard in Holland.
Our largest launched yacht to date, featuring one of the tallest masts in the world, is an incredible and exceptional design.
She features numerous elements of design engineering never before seen, her carbon mast towers 83m and is the largest ever produced by Southern Spars. We designed her with targets such as hoisting the mainsail in less than two minutes and tacking the boat within 30 seconds; and her builder, Vitters Shipyard, developed an innovative staysail furler for her.
Named after the Greek goddess of beauty and splendour, Aglaia is a gorgeous yacht and differs in looks dramatically from the typical Dubois styling.
The glass saloon windows have an extreme three dimensional curvature, giving her one of the sleekest profiles we have ever created.
Chief among her charms is the painting by Norwegian artist Magne Furuholmen on her Code 1 sail, which at about 3,600sqm (both sides of the 1,787sqm Cuben Fiber sail) is one of the largest fabric paintings in the world.
