SALPERTON is the largest pleasure craft ever built in New Zealand. Designed by Dubois Naval Architects and built at Alloy Yachts, she was launched in Auckland in December 2001 and was handed over to her owner in January 2002.
Her layout puts the main cockpit, saloon, formal dining area and pilothouse on the same level. This space plan is unique on a sailing yacht and is accompanied by visibility and sight lines which will give a feeling of space and light as well as direct but sheltered visual contact with the sea in all areas.
Each of her five magnificent guest staterooms has generous natural light. Guest accommodation includes the owner’s suite, three double guest cabins and a gymnasium which has two pull out berths and a bunk. She has six crew cabins, all ensuite, giving comfortable accommodation for her crew.
With a maximum speed under power in excess of 16 knots and speeds in excess of 20 knots attainable under sail she offers a fantastic combination of space, performance and elegant living.
Salperton is very well equipped with toys. She has Castoldi 21 foot RIB -182 hp water jet - with weather protection, Avon 4.5 metre RIB with 50 hp outboard, a Yamaha waverunner, dive gear, snorkel gear, 2 wind surfers, 2 mountain bikes, 3 sea canoes.
There is an extensive entertainment system throughout the yacht and each cabin has individual CD/radios and DVD players.
Other equipment includes a Multi gym, exercise bike and rowing machine.
