Atlanta, a 36.9 m. (121.1') fast cruising sloop, was launched in February, 1996, from Alloy Yachts International, New Zealand.
The design was for a yacht which would have a greater internal volume and shallower draft than Mamamouchi, a 39 m. Dubois performance cruising sloop, launched in the same year from Pendennis Shipyard, Falmouth, Endgland. Additional differences include Atlanta’s increased forefoot depth for motoring performance in a seaway and the increased flare of her forward topsides, with a slight clipper bow, to help dryness.
Atlanta’s design incorporates panoramic views, from the pilothouse settees, that can be enjoyed without the sacfrice of privacy. This lounging area is enhanced by the navigational equipment that retracts into timber columns, at the touch of a button. The cherrywood interior with rosewood and ebony inlays was styled by Glade Johnson Design.
