  • Design 256 - Nadia - Peningo
  • Nadia, a 14.9 m. (48.9’) Performance Cruising Sloop, was launched in May 1996, from Pendennis Shipyard, Falmouth, United Kingdom.

Constructed from high strength materials (including Kevlar), Nadia was designed to a high specification. Her design incorporated a canoe shaped hull, deep fin keel and a large, balanced spade rudder. Interior weights were concentrated towards the centre as far as possible and the rig layout has been carefully worked out to make short-handed cruising an easy option.

Nadia was built in time to compete in the Expo 98 Round the World Stopping Race and proved herself to be very competitive in the 1996 Round the Isle of Wight race. At the half way stage, before deciding to cruise the rest of the way, Nadia was well up and in touch with the eventual winner (another Dubois 50, design number 235, called Eagle).

Ownership of Nadia changed in February 2001 and she is now known as Peningo.
