  • Design 288 - Salperton
  • Launched from Alloy Yachts International in January, Salperton was the first Dubois Design to hit the water in 2002.

Salperton, a 53 metre (174 foot) ketch, impressed onlookers as she ran through her paces during sea trials held in Auckland. All onboard were delighted with her sailing performance and Salperton easily met the standards of excellence expected for the largest sailing vessel ever to be built in New Zealand.

Salperton is the culmination of over twelve years of collaboration between Dubois Naval Architects and Alloy Yachts International. The benefits of this shared experience are evident throughout the yacht - she is stunning.

Salperton's concept and layout provide an unparalleled feeling of space and light. She is the first yacht of her size designed with exterior seating and alfresco dining on the same level as the formal interior dining and saloon. When standing or seated anywhere in this vast area of over 128 square metres (1,378 sq ft), there is close to an all-round view of the horizon. Her beautiful cherry wood interior includes a full Owner’s suite, accommodation for guests in three double staterooms and a gymnasium.

The crew area is comprised of a restaurant style galley, crew mess, laundry, and separate Captain’s office together with six cabins, all with en-suite bathrooms, to accommodate a compliment of up to twelve.

Salperton is the first Dubois designed sailing yacht to incorporate a flybridge and the views from the twin helm stations high above the main deck are panoramic. With her ketch rig reaching up 60 metres, Salperton can to fly up to 2,600 square metres of sail downwind. She is the World's first yacht approaching this size to combine real sailing performance with true luxury.

Salperton is exclusively available for charter through Dubois Yachts Limited and will be exhibited at the Monaco Boat Show in September 2002.
