Renamed Audacious, Victric IV, a 37ft custom CHS racing yacht built for Tony de Mulder in 1997, was commissioned following the success of the Dubois designed 33ft Victric III launched in 1993.

The yacht was built using the latest materials including carbon fibre spars. She has a swept-back spreader rig configuration and non-overlapping headsails.

Victric IV took overall honours in Cowes Week’s prestigious Class 1 in 1998 competing within a high level fleet, including the latest one-design flat-out racers sailed by professionals.

Other notable wins included a convincing win at the 1998 Lymington Source Regatta. Her scorecard for the six race regatta was an impressive four 1st places, a 2nd place and a 3rd. This overall win was a repeat for the boat – Victric IV took the championship in 1997 when she was new and she was also first overall in Class 2 at Cowes Week in 1997.

This success has continued through 1999 where Victric IV was 1st Overall in the IRC Nationals.

The boat, now renamed Audacious, continues to feature prominently in the major regattas and has proved herself to be a consistent good all rounder.
