Naval Architecture
Ed Dubois was one of the first students to graduate from Southampton's College of Technology with a degree in Yacht Design and Naval Architecture. Malcolm McKeon (his partner in the business) completed the same degree.

In fact of the ten members of staff working here no less than seven are Naval Architects. What this means for our clients is that our boats are beautifully designed in the true sense of the word - with form and function supporting each other.

We're also proud of our reputation with boat yards for very accurate, detailed plans. Apart from the obvious benefits, it ensures clarity and a sense of common purpose - important when nascent yachts may spend a year in remote yards around the world.

Our skill in fundamental areas such as hull and keel design have led us to success in both the racing and performance cruising yacht arenas.

Exterior Styling
Our yachts have always been known for their good looks. It was the Half Tonner Santa Evita (1978) which through her pretty profile led to a string of production yachts. Later on, Aquel II's striking profile showed what we could achieve in terms of superyacht styling.

Today we produce some of the world's most beautiful yachts. Our research and development initiatives mean that the presentation of new ideas never stops.

We believe in the benefits of integrating overall design with technical design. A view which is now accepted universally.

Interior Design
Interior space planning is an integral part of the package. For any superyacht, a client's first recourse should be the designer. That designer should be a naval architect who understands space planning and who is able to encase the right layout for the client, creating the right flow from one space to another, within a hull form which will serve the client's purpose precisely.

That designer/naval architect must also be able to style the exterior so that it evokes the spirit that the client is looking for and reflects the overall purpose of the yacht.

Once that concept has been arrived at, the interior design can be further developed with regard to styling either by the designer/naval architect or with a separate interior stylist or possibly with a combination of both.

At Dubois, we are used to this process and understand it perfectly. We have worked with many of the world's best interior stylists to great effect.

This holistic approach has led to the winning of many design awards and, perhaps more importantly, our growing reputation. There is an ever lengthening list of floating examples of our work.
