Borsalino Trois was Ed's first design - for Jersey (Channel Islands) restaurant owner George Skelley who previously had Sparkman and Stephens production boats. Designed when Ed was 23 and launched on 1st May 1976, Borsalino Trois went on to win the RORC Championship for her class that year, the Solent Points Championship for her class and the British � Ton Cup trials. This was enough to get Ed started as a yacht designer - in 1977 he had 3 yachts to design and in 1978 over 20 yachts - all racing boats, designed to the IOR. The rest is, as they say, history.
