Police Car - 1979
12.8m. (42') Admiral's Cup Racing Yacht

Police Car was a 42' aluminium 2 tonner designed for Australian Peter Cantwell in late 1978. She was built in Western Australia by Steve Ward in 8 weeks and towed over 2000 miles to Melbourne before she hit the water. Racing in the Australian Admiral's Cup trials in late February 1979, she won 8 of the 11 races. Police Car was unusual; fractional rigged, low freeboard, no spare flesh anywhere.

One of the three boat team to come to England to contend the Admiral's Cup that year, she was the star performer. It was to be the second and last time Australia would win the Admiral's Cup and it made Ed's name internationally known within the yachting world. Thereafter a lot of work came out of Australia as well as elsewhere.
