Silvertip was built for the ex owner of Imagine. Having tasted racing success aboard Imagine he wanted to sail yet faster. Silvertip was built of composite construction by NZ Yachting Developments Ltd, to both perform well and offer exceptional comfort and long distance cruising ability. Striking in her appearance with a practically flush deck and no coachroof as such, Silvertip has been said by many to represent a new breed of sailing superyacht. She won both the Superyacht Society "Best Sailing Yacht" and Showboats "Best Sailing Yacht" awards in her class - the first yacht ever to win both awards.
