Michael first moved to the UK from Greece in 1990. He trained as a wooden boat builder on the Norfolk Broads before embarking in his naval architecture studies. He graduated from Newcastle University in 1995 and was employed by the Jubilee Sailing Trust, first as a shipwright and subsequently as a naval architect, for the build of the 3 masted barque Tenacious, the largest vessel of cold moulded timber construction at the time.
Michael joined Dubois Naval Architects in 1999. An avid racing yachtsman, he enjoys all aspects of design and engineering with an emphasis on the performance of sailing boats hence working on sail plans, appendages and velocity prediction but also the structural engineering and styling. Michael has been involved with the design of Alcanara, Valquest, Nostromo, the recently launched Bliss and the Oyster 125.
The sea and sailing are a passion for Michael and over the years he has taken part in yacht racing in many parts of the world.
